Friday Nails: Red Scale Experiment

Hey Strangekittens. This week I didn’t do a full tutorial; it was more like a quick experiment.

I wanted to see if I could get a dragon scale effect with sequins/paillettes. Here’s what I did:

What I used:

• Paillettes
• Nail glue
• Whatever polish colours you want.

What I did:

I only did this on my thumb. I basically started from the sides, and did the centre last. I layered the paillettes like fish scales. It’s not hard, just time consuming. It looked cool, BUT…

-Next time I’ll use smaller ones. There were WAY too large to sit down right. Maybe ones without holes cos the glue seeped out!

- Less glue, lol…

-Use the tweezers, not your fingers!

In any case, it was something fun to try, I’ll definitely try again with smaller ones!
